Cambodian King Leaves for China's World Expo

Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni left Phnom Penh on Monday for China to attend the celebration of China's National Pavilion Day at Shanghai World Expo 2010 at the invitation of China.

China's National Pavilion Day at Shanghai World Expo will be celebrated on Oct. 1, the Chinese National Day.

Meanwhile, King Sihamoni will also visit other countries' national pavilions during his stay in China, including his country 's pavilion, according to the officials of Chinese Embassy in Cambodia.

Seeing the King off at the Phnom Penh International Airport were Cambodian Senate President Chea Sim, National Assembly President Heng Samrim, Prime Minister Hun Sen and Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Pan Guangxue, as well as other members of Royal family.

Cambodian PM leaves for Shanghai World Expo

April 29, 2010 (Xinhua) - Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on Thursday left here for Shanghai, China to attend the opening ceremony of the World Expo 2010.

Sriev Tham Ronn, senior adviser to Prime Minister Hun Sen said at the airport that Cambodia and China enjoy a long history of friendship and such friendly relations have developed rapidly and enhanced steadily in recent years. "The Shanghai World Expo 2010 is the largest one in its history, so we are happy to have the chance to participate in it. We believe that we can learn more from it and let more people know Cambodia," he added.

The delegation included Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Hor Namhong, Senior Minister and Minister of Commerce Cham Prasidh and other members of the Royal Government of Cambodia.

During his visit, Hun Sen will hold official talks with Chinese President Hu Jintao on Saturday.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Kheng, Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Pan Guangxue and other government officials saw Hun Sen and his delegation off at the Phnom Penh International Airport.

Cambodian PM returns home from China trade fair trip

PHNOM PENH, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen returned home on Saturday after attending a trade fair and paying a work visit to China's Sichuan province.

Hun Sen led a high-level government delegation to participate in the meeting which included Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Hor Namhong, Cham Prasidh, Senior Minister and Minister of Commerce as well as other members of the Royal Government of Cambodia.

Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Kheng, and He Leping, charge d'affaires of Chinese Embassy, and other Cambodian government officials met Hun Sen and his delegation at the Phnom Penh International Airport.

During his stay in China, Hun Sen attended the opening ceremony of the 10th Western China International Economy and Trade Fair (WCIETF) and paid a work visit from Oct. 15 to 17 in Chengdu in China's Sichuan Province.

Hun Sen also met with Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and received courtesy call from Liu Qibao, secretary of the Communist Party of China Sichuan Provincial Committee.

The 10th WCIETF with the theme of "grasping opportunities coping with challenges, enhancing opening up and cooperation for Win-Win," highlighted Pan-Asian Economic Exchanges and Cooperation, Promoting Trade and Investment Growth.

Prime Minister Hun Sen flew to China on Thursday, to attend a trade fair and seek agreements on infrastructure rehabilitation, officials said.

“Hun Sen will raise before his Chinese counterpart encouragement of more investors to come, especially investment in the agricultural sector, hydroelectricity and rice mills,” said Sri Thamrong, an adviser to Hun Sen who accompanied the delegation.

Hun Sen is expected to meet with Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and pay a courtesy call on Liu Qibao, secretary of the Sichuan provincial committee of the Communist Party, Sri Thamrong said. Hun Sen will also give a speech at the opening ceremony of a trade fair on Friday morning, in the forum of international cooperation in a seminar on investment.

During the visit, the Cambodian delegation is expected to sign agreements for financial assistance on a road project between Kampong Thom and Preah Vihear provinces and irrigation in Battambang province.

Hun Sen traveled with Foreign Minister Hor Namhong and Commerce Minister Cham Prasidh.

China remains a strong partner in Cambodian development and is the country’s top donor. Its assistance includes development projects and military aid.

Yim Sovann, a lawmaker and spokesman for the opposition Sam Rainsy Party, warned against encouraging too much investment and financial support from China.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen left here for China on Thursday for a trade fair and working visit in southwest China's Sichuan Province.

Hun Sen is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Hor Namhong, and Cham Prasidh, senior minister and minister of commerce as well as other members of the Royal Government of Cambodia.

He Leping, charge d'affaires of Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, and other Cambodian government officials saw Hun Sen and his delegation off at the Phnom Penh International Airport.

According to the official schedule released by the country's foreign ministry, Hun Sen will attend the opening ceremony of the 10th Western China International Economy and Trade Fair (WCIETF) and pay a working visit from Oct. 15 to 17 in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province.

During the visit, Hun Sen will meet with Chinese central and local leaders.

Some loan agreements are expected to be signed during the visit, according to the foreign ministry's statement.

With the theme of "Seize the opportunity, Face the challenge, Opening-up and cooperation, Synergy and development," the 10th WCIETF will highlight Pan-Asian economic exchanges and cooperation, promoting trade and investment growth.

Cambodian Senate president leaves for China visit

PHNOM PENH, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Senate President Chea Sim left here on Monday for China on an official visit.

Chea Sim was seen off by some government officials and Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Zhang Jinfeng at the Phnom Penh International Airport.

At the invitation of Jia Qinglin, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Chea Sim will pay a five-day visit to China, a press release said.

During his stay in China, Chea Sim is scheduled to meet with Chinese leaders, aiming to promote friendship and cooperation between the two countries, it said.

Senior CPC official meets Cambodian guests

Liu Yunshan, head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, said in Beijing on Friday that the traditional friendship between China and Cambodia has gong through the vicissitude of international situation.

Liu made the remark while meeting with a delegation from the Cambodian People's Party headed by Pen Pannha, a member of the Standing Committee of the party's central committee.

Liu, also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, said the current visit of Pen Pannha will further strengthen the mutual understanding of the two parties and push forward bilateral ties.

He expressed appreciation for Cambodia's long-standing adherence to the one-China policy, adding China would like to work with Cambodia to advance the all-round cooperative partnership.

Pen Pannha congratulated the CPC on convening its 17th National Congress. He said Cambodia People's Party appreciates China's long-term and great assistance to the reconstruction and economic development of Cambodia.

The delegation, invited by the CPC, arrived here Thursday for a visit till Oct. 31.
