Sam Rainsy on Sultan of Brunei visit: It's a vist of an unimportant dictator of an authoritarian regime

Opposition Dismisses Visit by Sultan of Brunei

Mony, VOA Khmer
Original report from Phnom Penh
04/04/2007

The sultan of Brunei was scheduled to arrive in Cambodia Wednesday night, on a visit the opposition called a bad idea.

Opposition leader Sam Rainsy said Wednesday that the visit of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah was the visit of an unimportant dictator of an authoritarian regime.

"I don't see a positive point as a model from Brunei," Sam Rainsy said. "The sultan is authoritarian. There is no legislative branch, no Assembly, no power-sharing. It is called an authoritarian monarchy."

The sultan is coming at the behest of King Norodom Sihamoni and over four days will call on Prime Minister Hun Sen, Senate leader Chea Sim and National Assembly President Heng Samrin.

To Mr. Sam Rainsy,
Your remaks on the Sultan of Brunei is absolutely unnecessary for the simple fact that if you were to rule Cambodia, you would do exactly the same. You are the most selfish, uncaring, incompetent, corrupt, narrow-minded and stubborn politician Cambodia has ever produced. Taking account of your family background, you are going to be Cambodia's Pol Pot of the 21st century. What you have been doing and acting thus far is purely aimed at getting to the top. But soon after you are on the top, you will certainly turn 180 degrees and do and act the opposite. There is no need for you to dispute this assertion of ours, because you cannot escape public scrutiny let alone Khmer history.

Amen brother!

Moreover, I like to add that the
election is over, and what Sultan
is doing is none of our bussiness.
We only want to build good trade
relationship for the good of both
nations. How can he claimed to
care for Khmer people and reject
foreign relationship. Is he
expecting khmers people to be happy
being jobless or something?

It's another uncalled for comment from leader of the opposition. This comment can only damage Mr Sam Rainsy
competency in handling foreign diplomacy and policy. It will haunt him when he become the Prime Minister of the country.

And if he keep coming with these sort of comments (the well known one is if there is Sam Rainsy there will be no Hun Sen)he will lose the support of more and more of the critical, intellectual minded people which is the core element that Sam Rainsy Party should gather for support. The 3 communes lost in this election should be carefully studied to explain what is the problem for the cause.

Critics of Sam Rainsy above might have been quite happy to offer a red carpet welcome to Pol Pot ( or for that matter to the Burmese military junta leader) if they had been their country's leader. They think about trade and turn every thing into commodity. For them humanity is very cheap or has no value at all.

In Asia, who cared when Pol Pot massacred millions of Cambodians? Cambodia's neighbouring countries welcomed Khmer Rouge leaders, and China provided assistance and support to Pol Pot. Only Britain, the US, Canada, Norway and the Internation Commission of Jurists raised the issue of massacres in Cambodian before the Vietnamese intervention. And this invervention was motivated by self defence after the Khmer Rouge had attacked Vietnam, and not by any humanity at the first place. Who cares now about Aung San Suu Kyi, the rightful leader of Burma, who has been under house arrest for many years? Trade and other interests have drained humanity away from Asian leaders and elite.

It is good for Asia to have some politicians like Sam Rainsy who have hearts and not simply guts, and also concern for the well-being of other peoples that are forced to live under dictatorship.

7:03AM made a huge mistake by saying that "we, Khmer, know everything already..." Killing each other, YES; selling their children for prostitution, YES; selling State properties for their own benefits, YES; grabbing lands from the poor and the defenceless, YES; destroying forests, lakes, rivers, marshlands, national parks, natural catchments, etc..., YES; corruption, YES; incompetency, YES; human rights abuses, YES; totalitarianism, YES; selling Cambodia to Hanoi communist regime for their personal gain, YES; jobs for young graduates, NO; equal opportunity in the workplace, NO, good education accessible for all Khmer children, NO; adequate healthcare system for all, NO; market creation for local primary produce, NO; equality and fairness between political parties, NO; freedom of expression, NO; respect of human rights and implementation of democratic principles, NO; impartial and credible justice system for all, NO; transparency, NO; good governance, NO and the list goes on and on.
Moreover, in the age of liberal democracy, free market economy and globalisation of trades, Cambodia and her people constitute only a drop in the ocean.
Frankly speaking, we feel extremely sorry for you, 7:03AM. YOU ARE SIMPLY A FROG IN A POND. YOU WILL NEVER HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEE IN YOUR LIFETIME HOW BIG AN OCEAN IS. IT IS NOT BECAUSE AN OCEAN IS FAR FROM YOU. IT IS BECAUSE YOU TRAVEL IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION TO THE OCEAN. IN BRIEF, IT IS BECAUSE YOUR ATTITUDE!!!

To Mr. Lao Mong Hay,
You know as much as we do that Mr. Sam Rainsy is a politician, a public figure. To us, people criticizing Mr. Sam Rainsy as a public figure simply want him to do better in politics. They want him to envisage all the political ideals left by our ancestors. They want him to be courageous of course, but at the same time considerate, compassionate, caring, straightforward, honest and clean. They don't mean in any way to roll a red carpt for Pol Pot or this mass murdere's reincarnation. Sihanouk era is gone for good. So is Pol Pot's. Now we are facing a new breed of dictatorship. Worse still, we are facing a total annexation of Cambodia by Vietnam, thanks to the current puppet regime led by Hun Sen. We actually need a strong leader who can command an instant and unconditional support from the ordinary people, the people who suffer the most from social injustice which lingers in the last three decades. Put your hands on your heart and tell us as to whether or not Mr. Sam Rainsy is that kind of leader. We don't think so. LAST BUT CERTAINLY NOT LEAST, PLEASE BE REMINDED THAT THE CULT OF PERSONALITY IS THE MOST DANGEROUS PRACTICE IN KHMER POLITICS SINCE THE FALL OF BONTEAY LONGVEK TO THE THAI EXPANSIONISTS.

What did the lost Dr Lao said about
the US raised issues of massacre
with? LOL, you must be on the wrong
planet or in Ah Svacrava's cartoon
world. Everyone knows the US funded
the Khmer Rouge for years before
the Vietnamese intervention in
Cambodia, in case you have been
out in space. And yes, we will
trade with all who's willing to
trade with us, especially our
neighbors Birma and the millitary
ruled Thailand.

From 7:03am to 11:04am..
i just want to know how people react. Now ,since you know too much, why don't you do something for your country?. Are you afraid? Why don't you form a political party and compete with the CPP?. if you know so much and don't do anything BUT BARKING ,that's meant you're useless OR WORTHLESS , or as the khmer like to say;<< ACHA TA THESS>>. I don't need sympathy from you...lol.

12:24pm.
You are deadly wrong on this one.The U.S supported the khmer rouge right after the viet's invasion because U.S viewed CAMBODIA as under occupation of foreign power ,and khmers rouge as a legitimate force to liberate the country....

To 7:03AM from 11:04AM,
Please do not jump to the conclusion where you assume that we do not do a thing for Cambodia and her people. Actually, we have done a lot. This is the reason why we hide our identity. It's hard for you to believe, of course. Nevertheless, from the fact that we've told you the naked truth about Cambodia's present political situation, we think we have already done something for you in particular and for the whole Khmer nation in general, haven't we. Please rest assured that we will keep on doing it until Cambodia is free from fear of poverty, persecution, abuses, killings and most importantly foreign domination!!!

To 4:06 AM firs look at your current PM HUN SEN but you're already a hypocrite. What an idiot, Khmer are so dump I mean it really dump after history and history they are so dump. They are so stupid and always fight Khmer people but pussy when face illegal immigrants inside their own land. On other hand they are fucking stupid just one bark from Yuon they all ran. Even the current office people are all fat, corruption and sticking dick in the hole nothing benefit for the nation and serve the fucking Yuons. Sleep on it and eat your heart out.

To 11:04am from 7:03am or Mr know it all,,
Let's assume you are in the process of doing something good for your country and her people, my question to you is why are you still conceal your identity? Please don't tell me there is a resistance underground going on somewhere, it will never work. It will lead to self annihilation inevitably. The recent election in Cambodia proved to the world that the current govt is legitimate, eventhough it's not 100% fair but....
Cambodia and her people had endured so much trajedies already .The only way to change the direction is BALLOT not BULLET, and i challenge you to do so ,can't you? well, i may be the frog in the pond as you prefer to call me,but this frog doesn't take shit for an answer...and spurn out all sympathy....

To 11.55

Cult of personality can be found everywhere. In France, Louise XIV said "the state is me." (L'Etat c'est moi). In the Soviet Union there was Stalin, China, Mao Tse Tung, North Korea,Kim Ill Sung and his son , Kim Jung Ill, Indonesia, Sukarno and Suharto,etc...

Montesquieu found a way to do away with the cult of personality: (1) using power to control power, (2) separation of powers. In advance democracy, there is also the rule of law with independent judiciary and respect for human rights. When a country is governed by the rule of law, all people including all rulers are equal before the law and are equally protected by the law. No one is above the law. In democracies, law is just and applies to all.

We should not to trust rulers. Personally, I don't. We should trust institutions of checks and balances and institutions of the rule of law, and make them work.

What are you mumbling about, LAO.
Forget the stupid Democracy. The
term "Democracy" has been damaged
beyond any repair. Just follow
the wills of the people and that is
more democracy than anyone on
this planet. Does the US, UK, ...,
or AU do that? of course not, and
you know better. It is all fake.
Wake up, Dude, even Pol Pot claimed
his government as Democratic
Government. Moreover, people, now
day only using the term "Democracy"
only to struggle for power. The
backstabbers SISOWAT Sarimatak
has using, S. Rainsy has using it,
The Scumbag Sisowat Thomico has
using it, ..., who hasn't, LOL.

As an opposition leader we see Mr Sam Rainsy is an alternative leader to the current leadership of the country. However, if Mr Rainsy regards himself as a leading activist for the Human Rights, just like Mr Loa Mong Hay, rather than politician, then the comment he has made is appropriate for the cause.
Mr Rainsy aught to look at himself as what role he's performing. Mr Rainsy has contradict himself on his stance against authoritarian regime, unless he does not consider communism as not authoritarian regime. I remember that he did not object to last year visit of Vietnamese President but instead issue a communique of support and he was not critical of chinese leadership visits as well.
He must be consistent to what role he would like to do. If he what to be Prime Minister of Cambodia he must be a politician and act like one, otherwise he can joint Mr Loa Mong Hay as a Human Rights activist.

12:45, you are right, the US and
UK did not funded KR until after
the Vietnamese invasion, but what
is your point? Do you think Khmer
people is better off under the
Khmer Rouge or something. Come on,
dude, the US and UK killed Saddam
for gasing about 100 thousand
rebels, but they funded the KR who
mudered 2 millions. Who are you
trying to deceive here?

Anonymous said...

To 1:46AM..
I just want to correct you that's it, because you've said;<< the kr had been funded by the U.S a long time ago before the viet's invasion.>>. One more, i never said Cambodia is better off under POLPOT, WHERE did you get the idea that i said all those things smart alex?

Anonymous said...

Yeah, but you didn't sound like you
just wanted to correct me 3:45, you
sound like you are excited with
the US siding with the Khmer Rouge.
But thanks for the correction
though.

Peace, bro.

Ladies and Gentlemen!

Well! Well! Well! Enough had been said already. So where do I begin?

What Mr.Sam Rainsy had said about the Sultan of Brunie is true!!!
If any intelligence Cambodian people who had been study the history of southeast Asia and they will find out that all the leaders in southeat Asia are dictators!!
For example, dictator Ferdinan Marco of Phillipine!!!Suharto of Indonesia, Marthir of Malaysia,Lee Kwan Yew of Singpore, what esle...Burma,Thilane, Kim Jon IL of Korea?,King Sihanouk of Cambodia( well his a King then turn Prime Minister?) Enough of my examples!

You see it is the tradition of Asian to have a dictator! AH HUN SEN is just following the tradtion!ahahaha But of all the dictator in southeast Asia, AH HUN SEN is the cheapest of them all!!!As a dictator AH HUN SEN do things that benefit the enemy not Cambodian people!!!I had seen Cambodia from the air and on the ground!!Cambodia is such a fuck up place after all these years under AH HUN SEN dictator leadership!!!It is unspeakable!!!

For Sultan of Brunie, I want to commend him for being such a good Sultan, a good King and a good leader because the people of Brunie are living in luxury!!!

I want Cambodian people to live in luxury one day so that they can free their mind to think about art, literature, science, technology,...to be proud of themselves in their achivement in all field and contribute something positive back to the world!!!

So far Cambodia continue to sell their misery to the world and I am not proud of that...It is such a shame for Cambodia to be helpless and weak because of one dictator name HUN SEN!!
