The France-based Reporters Without Borders Organization [RWB] has denounced the threat to kill a Radio Free Asia [RFA] reporter and appealed to competent authorities to protect the journalist so that he can perform his job safely.

RFA reporter Lim Pisith received a death threat on 16 June over his report on illegal logging in Kampong Thom Province. He is the second RFA journalist, who has received threat, after Prime Minister Hun Sen issued a warning to Keo Nimol last month.

Om Yintieng, top adviser to Samdech Hun Sen, has demanded that the victim lodge a complaint with the authorities if he really received the threat.

As for Interior Ministry spokesman Khieu Sopheak, he told the Voice of America that he had not received the complaint about this story yet, and he asserted that he would find out the truth about who was behind such a threat.
