“The leader of the no-longer opposing Sam Rainsy Party accused the Human Rights Party of Mr. Kem Sokha of being a political tool of the Cambodian People’s Party [CPP]. Mr. Sam Rainsy said publicly yesterday morning at the office of World Vision that the Human Rights Party is supported and sponsored by the CPP; however, Kem Sokha denied what Mr. Sam Rainsy said.

“Mr. Sam Rainsy said that the Human Rights Party of Mr. Kem Sokha is supported by the CPP, which can be seen clearly because throughout the congress, which was cared for by the government, there was even an explosives detection system available for the congress of Mr. Kem Sokha. Mr. Sam Rainsy said that the congress of the Human Rights Party is not different from the congress of Funcinpec which was held on 18 October 2006 for the removal of Samdech Krom Preah Norodom Ranariddh. He explained that the congress of Funcinpec had bodyguards to protect it, and careful explosives detection procedures were in place which have never been available before. It can be said that the ruling party has never had any sympathy or support for other parties, like it helped the Human Rights Party of Mr. Kem Sokha.

“At the Funcinpec congress, a number of police officials, known as government officials, were sent to protect the Funcinpec congress. It is known that the congress of Funcinpec was supported by the ruling party. According to Mr. Sam Rainsy, the Human Rights Party organized the congress at this time not different from what Funcinpec had done in October.

“As for Mr. Kem Sokha, he responded to Mr. Sam Rainsy saying, ‘Because Mr. Sam Rainsy is frightened like a young bird when he saw that the congress of the Human Rights Party on Sunday was crowded and sounded like a busy rice mill. It can be said that Mr. Sam Rainsy fears a split of votes and losing in the election, as he saw the Human Rights Party forces were a big crowd in Phnom Penh.’

“While Mr. Sam Rainsy criticized the Human Rights Party of Mr. Kem Sokha for having good relations with the CPP, Mr. Nguon Nhel, a senior CPP official and member of the Permanent Committee of the CPP Central Committee, expressed his position of favorably considering the Human Rights Party of Mr. Kem Sokha. This shows more and more that there is no problem between the CPP and the Human Rights Party of Mr. Kem Sokha. It can be said that the two parties have very good relations and cooperate with each other, like the Sam Rainsy Party thought. Mr. Nguon Nhel blamed Mr. Sam Rainsy for making statements without having a basis for them. He considered Mr. Sam Rainsy’s speech to be just in line with his normal habits.

“The Human Rights Party congress on Sunday was praised for the large number of people participating, as no other party had ever achieved something like that. However, after a while, some said that most of the participants had been paid some money, or had received T-shits or kramas [Khmer cotton scarfs], etc. Nevertheless, meals were a failure, because many participants complained about having been promised a meal; in fact, they had nothing to eat, and some said finally that they were deceived by Kem Sokha.

“However, it is observed that the Human Rights Party gained a pretty good number of supporters, though the supporters were paid some small money. But it is a reality that government officials seemed to have cared for and helped the Human Rights Party to hold the congress smoothly and well, like Mr. Sam Rainsy had suspected.”

When Mr. Kem Sokha was president of Human righ organization,he criticized Hun Sen and his government. Now it sounds like he wants to coorpterate with CPP for the sake of power. If that happen, it is CPP that win the polical game, not Cambodian people.

The line is split between the CPP and the rest.Either you want the status quo or you want to change. It's so easy to see that the creation of the HRP is to split the voters on the side of the rest. For this reason ,KEM SOKHA is a dumb politician.CPP was laughing their head off just to know a new party is born.So don't complain about corruption ,land grabbing or defamation suit.It is you, dumb bell KEM SOKHA who help the CPP.

What can I say, Kem Sokha started to attack the SRP since he was thinking of starting a political party. Sam Rainsy need not claim this. People with intelligent can work it out. The end of Kem Sokha political career is just starting. In the long term people will sympathise with the SRP and see it as the only credible opposition.

What a waste, he worked hard when he was in the human right organization and I supported his ideas and principle and now it comes to an end in disgrace, what a shame. I feel sad in only one thing – I feel sorry for my country, Cambodia. She has never had a good leader, now I know why Cambodia is shrinking, maybe it's our fate, or is it in our blood that we Cambodian patriots can't work with each other.

You are absolutely right. Cambodia has never got a really good leader.

Her so-called best children seem to know only how to fight among themselves for their own personal interests and exploit endlessly their weaker, less fortunate and less intelligent siblings. Poor Cambodians have always been the victims of their political elites!

They will burn the house, if necessary, as long as they can sit on the remaining burned chairs in the open air and will give absolutely no qualms about their selfish actions!

It seems like the children of Cambodia can never work together for the common good of the country. I, too, feel sorry for Cambodia, the country every Khmer child professes to love with all his or her heart and yet she continues to receive one death blow after another from her children.

Inability to work together is surely a chink in the Khmer's armour!

It is indeed a disturbingly sad reality!

It is also quite an irony that the strong, the rich and the political elites in Cambodia, where Buddha's teachings have been firmly rooted for centuries, lack credible ability to control their personal avarice and possess no genuine compassion.

Kem Sokha didn't learn his lessons at all. He should have joined with SRP first to make Khmer people stronger to defeat CPP and then he can split his HRP from SRP or share power with SR Leader.

He now tries to weaken all Khmer people. Hun Sen will be voted in again and again if he can live up to 200 years. He will be a dictatorial PM forever until he dies.

It`s true that Cambodia`s never had a good leader. What Khem Sokha did prove that he is also not a good leader.

He can be deemed as a liar, to some extend. He knows he can attract only a handful of aging political elites who uneventually cannot properly lead the country even if somehow he might win the election. But I`m sure that this will ever happen to Khem Sokha.

I know he knows clearly that he cannot defeat the CPP alone. Still he created his own political party which I ,myself, cannot help accusing Khem Sokha of being backed by the CPP.

If people like KEM SOKHA keep creating new party,it is the CPP who stand to gain everything period.Kem Sokha understood that but he goes ahead and do it anyway what a jerk. For this reason ,we ,the people ,can say HRP is the party for defrocking the kk monks. The party for prime minister for life, the party for corruption ,land grabbing or the party which have no real purpose but to destroy the hope and dream of the true khmer.

Yes, I share all your views here. Kem Sokha commit a political genocide in Cambodia history again. Give him shit by the way. Damn Kem Sokha !

What qualification dose Kim Sokha have? He's good at barking. Bark, bark & bark like a dog. But he's worse than a dog because he doesn't know how to bite. He only knows how to attack SRP because he got lots of advisers provided by CPP. He said again and again about two-term prime minister policy to prevent corruption. But he's the most corruptive person I've ever known.

What Excellency Sam Rainsy said
are all correct. Kem Sokha is the puippet of AH HUN SEN and CPP.

Trading criticism is mutually damaging and shows lack of political maturity. It diverts public opinion away from serious national issues such as poverty, yawing gap between the rich and the poor, kleptocracy, cronysm, land-grabbing, corrption, unemployment, absence of the rule of law, dysfunctional justice sytem and police, violation of human rights, below-survival wages of our civil servants, police officers and soldiers, illegal logging, depletion of natural resources, etc...

Where are the plans and political programmes to address all these issues and others from all parties including the ruling party?

If I were a plitician, I would concentrate on these plans and programmes and on forming a credible team to sell them to the people and, once having secured public support, effectively implement them.

But I'm not a politician.

I am just scare HUN SEN have alot of VIETNAMese holding our citizenship that 100% vote for him. You know every election even in Phnom Penh HUN SEN always lost. This time he will loose every provinces I bet. Because he kept lying with what he had promised. Cambodian will not vote for him because of BEE-CHENG, Noodle, Sarong, Kramah that he passes to them. BRAVO CAMBODIAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WAKE UP KOUON KHMER!

HRP is not the independant party because we know very
well two new members of HRP is that :

- Mr Chan Ven (he is CPP member and was Minister of
Education during Youn domination in Cambodia 1979-1989).

-Mr Pen Sovann is always Youn spy (he is released by Youn
Hanoi in 1992 after 10years in jail at his house in yanoi).
The wife of Pen Sovann is youn lived in hanoi.

Chan Ven and Pen Sovann are Youn servant and Youn
spy. They also belong to CPP (Communist Pro youn Party).

Those are the same tricks that Mr Ung Phan (member of CPP
central committee) in Funcipec 1993 and during coup of 5-6 july 1997

Mr Kem Sokha had tendance to CPP (Communist Pro youn
Party) too

So HRP is not really an independant party or really brings
Democracy to Cambodia people

Yeah, IRI brings democracy to Cambodia People. But not
Kem Sokha because Kem Sokha did not belong to IRI..

Now It's the way for Kem Sokha to serve CPP (Communist Pro youn Party)

We should support Pen sovan. He has nothing to do with CPP. He is agaist this government and he try to promote oppositon party too. As long as these people is not the leader, things will go well dude.

I grudgingly agree with Da person above. Sam Rainsy's foolish action is philosophically impossible to be a PoliSickian, because he is fully unaware of true reality. More specifically, he cannot save Khmers from widespread ignorance and acceptance of a false reality, because he himself is a supreme ignorant man. Interesting enough, he has never be able to learn his many past mistakes, which is repeatedly him alone can not win nor fight against CPP. Honestly, I ain't Khmer PoliSick, but I am grievously troubled in my mind and unspeakably vexed in my soul that Khmeritude is unconscientiously loved to fight and blame each other, while the killers and destroyers are mokeringly walking free. Even Human beings can not direct the wind, we can patiently and acknowledgeably adjust the sail.

No doubt, the HRP is encouraged and backed by the CPP in order to split the votes in the opposision forces. When you create a new party, you help the ruling CPP to retain its power longer. Why are our Khmer politicians so political ignorance?
