In "Kem Sokha Sets Conditions fcr SRP Cooperation," (Published by The Cambodia Daily on Tuesday 24 July 2007), there are allegations that I have sole control of the SRP and that I only want to control people. In April's commune elections, the SRP emerged as the country's second largest party, with 25 percent of the vote.
It is overstating my capacity to imply that I alone could successfully navigate through all the difficulties facing the only opposition party in parliament. It is giving me too much honor and distorting the truth to imply that I alone, like a "god" or a "king" could collect 1.3 million votes despite an obviously uneven playing field.
In fact, the encouraging votes obtained by the steadily growing SRP are attributable to the joint effort of a large team that operates in the most democratic style. The SRP is the only party in the country to have conducted reform with far-reaching implications that gives meaning to the words "democracy" and "decentralization."
Over the last three years, with help from institutions such as the National Democratic Institute, the International Republican Institute, Friedrich Naumann Stiftung and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, we have put in place a "from bottom up" decision making process that is unique in Cambodia.
In our meetings and congresses, we place more emphasis on quality than quantity, in that participants and delegates are elected and true representatives of tens, hundreds or thousands of people. We have already moved far away from democracy on paper only.

In 2008 general election in Cambodia, the parties will be in competition :
SRP (Sam Rainsy Party) lead by H.E. Sam Rainsy
CPP (Communist Pro youn Party) lead by ah Hun sen (criminal against humanity in Cambodia)
NRP (Norodom Ranarigh Party) lead by Samdech Krom Preah
HRP (Human Rights Party) lead by Mr Kem Sokha
Note:
Funcipec is not in the list because Funcipec merged with
CPP (Communist Pro youn Party) which are the same youn servants
Pls do not wast your time & energy to fight back with Kem Sokha who's a new prop of CPP .
Faucus on what you are doing now which will led you to the Victory for Cambodia & its people.
HRP of Kem Sokha will fade out soon
by nature.
Leaders are trained to first use their brains before they could flutter their tongue. It is so quite the opposite with Mr. Kem Sokha.
Mr. Kem Sokha sees the black cloudy sky in the horizon, he starts banging the drum, and leads the villagers to believe that there will be a big rain coming.

SRP leader does express his rightfullfulness in the sense of success. Its not him alone but it is the team work of SRP's commitment. Kem sokha is the idoit who start to show his betrayal to democrats and the Cambodian people.

The SRP is the only hope for khmer people.
Kem Sokha is the spy of AH HUN SEN.
He will escape Cambodia after the 2008 election. He had sold is head for HS on last Sunday 22nd July 2008. he is the person who destroy the democracy in Cambodia. Because he takes the word Human Right to deceive people and it can be spoid the NGO ilke LICADO. Then, the word Human Rights in Cambodia is nonesense. This is what HUN SEN needs.
Go to hell Kem Sokha and HRP
damn kem sokha.....should he come to NY i would give him shit on his face.
Who is Khem Sokha? Where did he live and what did he do in the past beside working as HR director in Cambodia? He just wanted to split the vote in 2008 for Hun Sen. How can he dare to say to SRP to join force with him when He just opens his store? This is a crab and chicken not a turkey.
Actually this guy works for HR organization to establish his ambitious to be in high office for himself, but not to serve people. He should work behind the scene with SR to get people to support one party to defeat Hun Sen, not to open the other party for himself.

I think therefore I am increasingly doubtful, while SRP's supporters grudgingly attack nor insult HRP,who is Da real Democracy in Srok Khmer, Samdech Hun Sen clandestinely or openly smiles getting drunk with million dollars in his bank. More specifically, why not tirelessly find the way to form one stronge Tree of Democracy to fight CPP?
One strong party must pass many obstacles and challenges in the past. I can see how hard SRP has struggled for its survival and absolute victory eventually:
1. Faced with internal division until split Cheat Khmer Party to a betrayal; and created new party by naming as his own name to avoid any next stealing.
2. Faced with brutal grenades attacked. It was severely and hurtfully...unforgettable. If not Rainsy may be he stopped the job. Now this grenade attack is still haunting the democratic movements.
3. Faced with inhumanized by Cambodian national polices to attack demonstration that also participated by many Buddhist monks during the protest of vote buying and vote disfranchisement.
4. Faced with court sentenced him to jail several years and he cannot come back to work as a politician more than one year.
5. His members of parliamentarians and law makers have been stripped the parliamentarianship and injailed.
6. Facing with killing, arresting, allegations and humiliating to his grounding members endlessly.
7. Faced with very sensitive and controversial border treaty that all main Cambodian institutions have signed it except SRP that stood firmly to protest this unequal treaty. Cambodia indisputably ceded its land to VN as well as the integrity guaranteed by Paris Peace Agreement. This border treaty signifies Indochina Communist Party in their attempt to make Cambodia, Lao and Vietnam as one strong country in SEA led by Vietnam.
8. Many other uncountable hardships that SRP is fighting with both visible and invisible enemies especially with injustice, poverty, corruption, land grabbing, social gap, dictatorship and dignitary as well as life-betting rival for the sake of Cambodia.
So Khem Sokha should see these efforts and rally with Sam Rainsy rather than trying to face with Sam Rainsy. Doing so, Khem Sokha will loss and loss his credibility and he is unavoidably called as a puppet of Hun Sen.
In reality, Khem Sokha is naturally extreme, power and money lover...

Majority of us who are living abroad do not like the Hun Sen's regime because we have seen so much problems i.e. illegal Vietnamese immigrant, border issue, corruption, poverty, …. Sadly, now that we have to split between SRP and HRP. Imagine, if these two parties be together, we would have a very strong force to compete with the CPP. Someone here mentioned very good points about obstacle that SRP has gone through. If Kem Sokha is a true democratic, he should not fight with SRP. He should not even create this new party. Instead he should stay with his NGO and working behind a background helping SRP to bring the true democratic to the Country. Isn’t it this is the goal that he wants when he preached people before about the human right?
Creed & very personal. Kim Sokha thought that he would be beneath Mr. Sam Rainsey, if he is to do that. He cannot and won't. To hell with Cambodia! Kim Sokha is first, formost and above all.
