30 July 2008
Opposition leader Sam Rainsy offered money to voters who could help him prove Sunday's elections were rigged, as he led a rally at his party headquarters in the capital Wednesday.
More than 300 people gathered at the headquarters, under the watch of a large number of armed intervention, military and traffic police, who also positioned a water-cannon on Sotheros Boulevard outside the headquarters.
The Sam Rainsy Party won 26 seats in Sunday's election, according to National Election Committee preliminary figures, but he has contested the results.
Sam Rainsy said at the rally he was attempting to collect from voters proof they had used an illegal administrative form, No. 1018, for voting. He offered $50 to anyone who could prove they voted with the form, even though their names were not on the voter registry.
Opposition votes were taken by NEC "bandits," who conspired to ensure a Cambodian People's Party victory, Sam Rainsy said.
NEC Secretary-General Tep Nitha said the national election body had issued form No. 1018 a day before the election to people who were on voter registries but did not have photo identification, which is legal under election regulations.
Suth Dyna, deputy secretary-general of the Norodom Ranariddh Party, said Wednesday his party supported the Sam Rainsy Party's call for form 1018. His party was also preparing documentation to complain over election results, he said.

WHAT A PITY FOR SAMRANSY
HE IS ALMOST CRAZY NOW
WHY USE MONEY TO BUY EVIDENCE
THIS NOT USE
JUST LOWER REPUTATION
Right, that's what I was going to say, hehehe.
The opposition leader Sam Rainsy has too many international leaders to back him up; whereas the de facto prime minister's popularity exists only in a small pond (not in an open water).
Go! Go, Sam Rainsy,
You have proven you are a fighter.
We count on you. I will send money again to support you.

Rainsy,
You have done a lot for the country. The opposition party needs a new leader. You lost the election ( again and again...... ), and let's move on.
Using your expertise and past political experiences with CPP, Cambodian people will need you to provide a new direction and new strategy to beat CPP in 2013, but we need a new leader and not you.
Do not cry like a baby. You really remind me of your father " Mr. Sam Sary "during Sihanouk's era.
I suppose you want Kem sokha to replace him and keep the brilliant Sam rainsy as kem sokha aviser.
You are artful as a monkey, my friend!

Find out seriously about this election.
Sam Rainsy didn't lost the election. He would have won it if the election was fair.
Sam Rainsy will decline your noble proposition.

Are you on drug or what? Why Kem Sokha? He is just another loser. He formed his HRP for his own personal interest only and if you follow his biography, you would know that.
There is a lot of young and bright Cambodian new generation out there who can fill these leadership positions and who will fullfill our dream and execute a new political strategy to build a better Cambodia.
Remember of all these folks:
-When a man is ignorant, you can't JUST say that he is so stupid or should be as ignorant as he is.you got to know THE ROOTS OF THE CAUSES. "Solution" show him a better routine of life, set good role model for him. It's like you bring lights for where the darkness definetely occupie a place. There are few people can exploit from the darkness, BUT THERE IS A MUCH LARGER MARGIN OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN EXPLOITED AND YOU THINK THEY DON DO A DAMN WHEN THEY SEE ONLY FEW OF THEM EXPLOIT AND LIVE HAPPILY FROM THE ADVANTAGES??????
-Prove that you can do any better than the olds. You can't only sit and watch people suffer and curse the people; they don deserve to receive all this much suffering, yet coz no-one can appear to lead any better-you need to bring and feed on CREATIVITY to guide and lead the poeple for better routine of living!!!!!
-Show your good intention and educate poeple in decent and effective methods of leading and having more quality living rather than just exploiting from the suffering of the people. "Do not just sit and exploit from the situations". "You don't just wait for the chance, rather go after it".
I hope u folks can share more of these practical ideas to help better shape our country to become a really civilized Country in this modern time!!!!!
God Blesses Camboida!!!!!!!!!
All of SRP do not loose hopes. One of these days, your turn will be greatest, keep unite, keep inform and god give you blessing one of these days.
Good for people, good for khmer all over the world.
I have great admiration for the Sam Rainsy Party for their tireless movements. To win over the CPP of its bias political schemes, it needs the stronger supports from the European and, especially, the US, or the goal to victory will dimming beyond reach. And please change the party name!!!!
Love Khmer Nation
Sam Rainsy Party has joined forces with three other parties to protest the election results. It should remainds itself of past betrayals it has bitterly experienced in the past, by FUNCINPEC and even by its own members.
Any long-term observer of Camboain polics should not fail to notice that, for a party that has never been in any goverment before, Sam Rainsy Party is the most resiliant and the most successful party. It has been facing all sorts of attempt at its destruction, including the physical elimination of its leader (grenade attack on 30 March 1997) and the "massive" dection before the 27 July election.
Starting from nothing, Sam Rainsy Party won 15 seats in 1998, 24 in 2003 and 26 in 2008. Considering the defection mentioned above, it has emerged from the last election triumphant, stronger and taller. It has a solid powerbase now, although this powerbase is not large enough.
LAO Mong Hay, Hong Kong
Blame no one, but my stupid country men/women. Even an animal could of figure this out. Simply, you can't go alone when hunting an elephant. They should of combine force and hunt together. Knowing the probability that they are going to loose, but took the chance..... year after year to assume the result might be in their favors. They (the party's) need to stop playing game with the people and joint force to move a better Cambodia for tomorrow. For, this 5 more year could be the end!
