Sam Rainsy renounced to the boycott of the 24 September inauguration ceremony, unlike what he threatened to do since the announcement of the 27 July election results.

The SRP leader, who indicated that he would travel to his district in Kampong Cham on the swearing-in date, showed up at the National Assembly to participate in the ceremony presided by King Norodom Sihamoni. Sam Rainsy was accompanied by other MPs from his party.

While the majority of the MPs were dressed in traditional clothes, Sam Rainsy listened to the king’s speech in civilian clothes.

Kem Sokha, HRP President, remained outside the ceremony, along with the other two elected MPs from his party. The three HRP MPs stayed outside the National Assembly building.

The king congratulated the elected MPs and he also gave them some advises during his fifteen minutes speech. “Cambodia must move toward democracy, toward good governance and must reinforce its judicial system,” Sihamoni declared.

At the end of the day, Sam Rainsy is still a piece of shit, afraid of losing his seat. How can we trust his gut or whatever fuck-up belief of which he always speak well? What a fool and loser!! People are right not to give a shit of whatever he has gone after, otherwise, their efforts would be in vain because at the end, all he cares is places that would carry his assholes!

Stop barking and do something, or hush!!!I neither pro SRP nor CPP, but SRP keeps check-and-balance of government activities and chances to democratic society. Go help your mom in the kitchen or do something, stop loud mouth on something beyond your comprehension.

The elections are finished.
I approve the Sam Rainsy’s attitude and its presence in the National Assembly the 1st day.
Because, it is not about question of pride or about personal pride but about the respect for institutions.
Only the fanatics do not change opinion.

The democracy and the human rights are notions which are not negligible in politics but in peace time.

Look at the thailande and its sick democracy.

And, it is in the National Assembly and with its that we can advance the ideas of the opposition and not outside the NA.

Cambodia must in the days which come to appear unite and fort in the bilateral negotiation which follow with the thailande on the problem of the borders.

Because the thailande has the intention to stop in the simple bilateral negotiation which is not justified for Cambodia and in which Cambodia has to win nothing?

At the end, in front of the threat of the war, the defence of the homeland has to pass first and as a priority.

The one who always blaims Hun Sen of only having the policies in mouth not in action. Now he is comparing himself to Hun Sen when the time is right. How can he compare with Hun Sen, I don't personally believe that he is stronger than Hun Sen in term of tough hand man to lead the country the full of corruption. We still need a strong man to stabilise the country.

Rainsy is also needed for our polical evironment anyway. But he will not be a future head of the state. He is simply a scapegoat for the evolution of Cambodian politic.

A future leader is now being incubated.

This statement should be an example to HUN SEN.

I saw this article from Thai's news.

Surapong: I will take a brake
Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Surapong Suebwonglee said on Thursday he would not accept any ministerial post in the Somchai government.

Surapong said he had notified the People Power Party (PPP) his intention.

"Since Samak (former prime minister Samak Sundaravej) stepped down and his Cabinet had to leave office as a result, I have no intention to carry on my work to set a norm. I inform my party at the meeting that I am not attached to my positions and I am not stubborn. I would like to take a brake and I request the party not to propose me to any political post temporarily,'' Surapong said.

He said his decision had nothing to do with the failure to be nominated as PM by Newin faction.

Surapong was among the three PPP leaders vied for PM, besides Somchai Wongsawat and Sompong Amornwiwat, both PPP deputy leaders.

Read this article, HUN SEN should do the same if he wants to live happily in peace. And no one is going to harm him. And for the better of the country.

Sam Rainsy has never kept his words. He is not better than Hun Sen or Ranaridh. My group and I in a city of USA had a meeting last night and decided not to support SRP anymore.

Good bye Sam Rainsy.

That's very stupid to say you support SRP 100% then when you see their action to retain whatever influence they still have left in the gvt you disown them now.

SRP was playing a game, in the end, you know Hun Sen wouldn't let go. SRP have small backbone and Hun Sen had the might of the Youn Hanoi empire behind him.

What do you suppose SRP should do? YOu know for sure no crack up international community is going to help him. He and Kem Sokha tried, at the last minute they had to abandon the game play so they can be part of the team, even though it seem only them the small minority in the team that care about Cambodia, 27 out of 123 is better then nothin.

It is still a sick election scam ran by Hanoi and Hun Sen. But no one can do anything about it because essentially the world has already given up on Cambodia and Cambodian have given up on their indepedence a long time ago.

A Hun Sen/Sam Rainsi combination may be good for the new government. CPP has matured and acquired certain degree of wealth, it is time to freshen up the image and earn more legitimacy. The hard and rough work should be of less degree of urgency now.

Let's see CPP in Military/Defense, SRP in economic and civil governance, and both CPP and SRP in foreign ralation. Yes, Norodom Rannaridh should also have a small part, how about culture/religion and education?

Sound okay to me, but I also like to see NRP and FUNCINPEC re-merge and oversee the the ministry of health as well.

It's possible only when they all put aside personal ego and reach all their own respective potential in a cllaboration. Hun Sen should spearhead the reconciliation/collaboration with his leadership and strength to include these less poweful/experienced, but useful smaller parties.

Although he is not academically developed, Hun Sen does possess natural leadership ability and the smartness to run a fragile country like Cambodia. What he lacks is more credibility and internationally accepted norms, and that is where the other parties can come in and complete the void. After all, when these men are united to lead the nation, that is when collectively they can stand together to make better decisions and face political/security threats from other more powerful countries. Recent experiences tell them that destruction came when Cambodia was broken and divided.

I said a few months ago that Rainsy can join with Hun Sen but he can't join with Kem Sokha or Ranaridh. Wait and see some more to go.....
