Phnom Penh – Today, prime minister Hun Xen openly warned all 4-star generals, telling all these generals not to eye the 5-golden-star topmost RCAF rank.
During the inauguration for the construction site of the largest fertilizer in Cambodia in the morning of 24 December, Hun Xen indicated that: “Don’t you seek 5-star at all. Under this era, there will be only 3 [people who will hold] the 5-star rank. This, I tell you in advance for the 4-star [generals], in case you want to ask for a 5-star promotion, don’t dream about it! Just because you saw your chief get a promotion, don’t you dare want the same promotion also. This is a special case!”
Along with his speech, Hun Xen added that he will wear his 5-star insignia the day he will wear his military uniform and when he will go to visit the troops along the border. Right now, Hun Xen’s uniform, which in past bore the 4-star insigniwa, has been modified to include the 5-star insignia already.

It's up to the king who decides who to grant five stars and how many more he can see as a potential. Hun sen cannot dictate that there are only three monkeys can be promoted. There are heaps of better people can be promoted too.
By saying only three five star generals in Cambodia can mean Hun sen dictates the king to give five and tells the king not to others. King is a puppet.

I don't see why some people want to have five stars or ten stars. These stars mean nothing, if you do not earn them through your honorable and qualified actions.
In fact people who unmeritoriously have those stars on their outfits or uniforms disgrace themselves. They should be shame, rather than proud to display those stars.
you have to have the knowledge and understanding of cambodian mentality in order for you to gain wisdom about what and why things happen the way they are in cambodia. again, it prabably goes back to it being isolated and ignorant for too long, in addition to the lack of the rule of law, etc... i mean not everthing about cambodian way is bad, however, it takes a lot of knowledge and understand to figure out how and why things happen the way they are in cambodia, really! that said, this kind of tradition and culture doesn't just happen now, perhaps, it's a wake up call now because it's been going on like this for as long as cambodia existed as a nation. of course, no one country on the planet is immuned to this kind of mentality of their own, however, it is wise to try to analyze and understand it, though. hopefully things will change for the better in the future, the more people are exposed and educated to the outside world. cambodia have to learn from the entire world, really! and the world can learn from each other as well, really!

It is a political joke to say that Sihamoni offered 5-star to Hun Sen, Chea Sim, and Heng Samrin.

To interpret Hun Sen's plan more correctly:
- Hun Sen wanted to give himself 5-star, but don't want to upset Chea Sim and Heng Samrin so therefore had to give the same star to these two as well.
- Hun Sen gave himself 5-star so he plays "MASTER" to the RCAF, so Hun Sen can have a firm control of the RCAF.
Hun Sen makes himself a clear Dictator who controls RCAF, National Police, Judicial System, National Assembly and the Senate.

There is such a thing as fallen stars. A third of the angels in heaven fell from their glorious state and became what is known as demons. These demonic spirits operate in the heavenly realm over nations and people who worship them unknowingly thinking that they are good spirits.
There is a spirit who is controlling the government of Cambodia. Its obvious. They can only operate through human actions who give themselves over to the working of these spirits.

Though we walk in the flesh but we do not fight against flesh and blood but against principalities and rulers, against spiritual wickedness in high places. High places being in the heavenly realm and in governmental and leadership of the human government body.
Flesh and blood cannot overcome this spiritual battle. We must look to the true source of help that is, the God of all gods.
The Bible, which is the word of God contain all resources we need to overcome this spiritual struggle between the good verse evil. No, Buddhism won't cut it. If Buddhism is the answer, why can't you see the result of such beliefs that had been with the Khmer people for so long. Seem like suffering and misery been the norm of those who trust in such a god. Before you put judgment on the God of the bible, read it first. People who are ignorance of the bible assume wrongly of who God is according to their tiny brain. If God is for us, who can be against us? No one! Not the Youn and Thai.

Buddhism is just a philosophy of buddha and it used to be my religion as well but after learning about God of the bible there is no doubt! he's the real god and if only we can convert all of our Khmers people to adopt Jesus Christ and we would not be in this mess and believe me Vietnam or Thailand couldn't even come near! just look at the 6 days war in 1967. All of the Arabs try to invade Israel with a mere population of less than 3 millions vs. the Arabs hundreds of millions + Iraq, Syria, Iran, Egypt, etc.... but at the end the Israel beat the crap out of them? thanks to God indeed! but we Cambodians are too deep in Buddhism that is why Vietnam uses Tep Vong to influence religion and cultural i.e. karaoke songs etc... which take us away from the real problem. Time to change and I am ready to help convert our Khmer people.

11:30PM and 6:14AM Amen to both of you. I used to be buddhist too but now I changed... I found that most of my fellow buddhist just practice selfishness without practical ideas to help their neighbors. Cambodian practice Buddhism for so long but look where we are right now compare to the other countries - We heard only killing each other, cheating each other, corrupted society and live in selfishness style. Given the number of Buddhist monks and temples we have in Cambodia, our people should not live in poverty and low mora like they are now.
Why khmers who are practicing Budhism doon't know or want to help Khmers? I see majority of foreingers who are not Buddhism are the ones who help khmers people. Khmer never get this at all. We use to make joke below that more khmer hungers are living near teh lavish buddhist style temple. Khmer need to look outside themselves us Buddhist religious is part of their on going suffering?
I give you one example in Cambodia. I live near the Catholic temple in my home town my parents always stop us from going to Catholic temple to see what's going on... I was young I want to adventure but had no chance...You know what Chinese people and Vietnamess people were the only group that allow their kids to go to study in Catholic church. Those kids were smarter then us - khmers.
They had chance to study France and math and other subject for free. I found out that those kids got good government job better than us. They live wealthy good live. We were still farmers and poor. I think we were dominated by our Cultural taboo for a long time that's why...I don't mean Buddhism is bad but to help our country Khmer needs reflect on this subject wisely.
I am talking about God of the bible the God of Israel vs. this very same Allah! not the other way around my friend! don't get me wrong Allah is good too and so do Hindu Krishna, Brahmanism, Vedanta, Sikhs, etc....except Buddhism who forbid to kill (Ahimsa) whereas others allow people to fight war for righteousness as only the body died but the soul will live forever and that is what make Buddhism state so so weak in the face of the ennemy! I hate to bring that up but unfortunately it's the truth and we need to change.

About 5***** Hun Sen, Chea Sim and Heng Sam Rin received. They are not important to us nor to Cambodia nor to the world.
Because the whole world already learned that the three men are not educated people but barbaric people in Cambodia. They are powerful and wealthy, so no matter how many golden stars they want to create and force the King to give their stars as an official to them still does not make them important.
Their golden stars will soon be sold in the black market. If I am the King I will flatter them that they deserve not only 5***** but a flawless diamond on the middle, then the 3 monkeys will do.

You are not there to know the 5 stars' games. If King Sihanouk suggested the stars for the powerful men, it must be the reasons behind. This King has Chinese VP as his advisor, and what he does means many things.
What every does in life is looking for the great achievement. Now that 5 stars is the greatest achievement one can dream of, and the 3 men get it, they can retire in peace, and let the next one become a leader.
Don't you want Hun Sen, Chea Sim and Heng Samrin get out from Khmer politics? If you do then give them award to die with. What is wrong with 5 to billion stars?
