Even though he is in self-exile due to his sentence on the politically-charged border problem, opposition leader Sam Rainsy still encourages his party officials to conduct political activities that strengthen the party’s stance in order to confront the party’s adversaries: the ruling CPP party and Kem Sokha’s HRP party which Sam Rainsy accused of acting as an acting puppet for the ruling CPP party.
During a video conference from Paris in the afternoon of 08 September, Sam Rainsy told his party officials to put effort into performing a political updating, i.e. they should visit the grassroot levels to strengthen their networks in order to find out how many party members are faithful to the party, and how many left the party to join another party.
This is a strategy to stop the psychological warfare led by other political parties, and also a strategy to strengthen the party in the political arena. The opposition leader provided lessons to his party officials to attract support at the grassroot levels, such as, asking the people: “why they continue to live in poverty?” or “why those who have power and money use their influence to legally grab lands and belongings of others?”. Another topic that Sam Rainsy wants to see his party officials raised is the intense struggle led by the SRP to oppose the Viet land encroachments along the eastern borders. The third topic raised by Sam Rainsy is to have his activists talking about the political activities led by the HRP – a party which he qualifies as not having clear consciousness in moving Cambodia from its current situation to democracy. He also called the HRP opportunist and an acting puppet for the ruling CPP party.
Sam Rainsy’s comments came after it was observed that Kem Sokha, president of the HRP, had opened intensive attacks on the SRP during his visit to the US. Sam Rainsy views such conduct by Kem Sokha as being a path fraught with danger.
Nevertheless, the Cambodian public wants to see the two democratic parties unite as a strong single force to topple the current communist ruling regime, rather than seeing them hampering each other for their own win.

There is no way they can win, if they don't get their act together. In fact all the Cambodian political parties other than the CPP should join shoulders. Please do the math and know how many Cambodian's votes that each should get, if going seperately or together.
Who wants to support a loser?
It is the best way to visit the grassroot levels to strengthen to get victory in the short future coming election. We would like Sam Raingsy and Kim Sokha to form only one party for perspective Cambodia. This 2 men are clever than one eye. The whole our family and our generation must support in the future election.

Please don't just listen to the sounds come out from their mouth (Kem Soka or Sam Rainsy). But rather look at the actions toward helping our people and nation.
In my opinion, I don't trust Kem Sokha as far as I can throw. I attend HRP Conferences in Philadelphia a few weeks ago; Kem Sokha is just all talks. This man can lie his guts out to his idiot supporters. I don't believe merging tactic is for the benefit but to distract SRP. I feels this is Kem Sokha, HRP mission.
Sam Rainsy have sacrafice for our people and nation a lot more then you can imagine. Kem Sokha's party is improving, they are at the bottom theirfore the only room they can move is up. Don't be so fools of his party improvement. Waite to see how far they can run and how far they can last. It only has been three years and let see if they have stamina to continues their current speed. Keep in mind, SRP have been running, walking, joking for over 15 years now. Although the president is in exile abroad the party stand their ground. If SRP is fake it would have been vanish long ago. This is not the first time they continues without thier president.
