VIETNAMESE AUTHORITIES ACCUSING AND CAMBODIAN GOVERNMENT SUING SAM RAINSY ON UNFOUNDED CHARGES
Late last month the Chantrea district (Svay Rieng province) authorities filed a criminal lawsuit at the Svay Rieng provincial court against opposition leader Sam Rainsy following the latter’s participation in a religious ceremony (Kathen) on October 25 at Ang Romdenh pagoda in Koh Kban Kandal village, Samraong commune, Chantrea district, Svay Rieng province.
Ang Romdenh pagoda is located a few hundreds meters from the border with Vietnam. Several hundreds people from Phnom Penh and Svay Rieng province attended the Kathen ceremony. There are professionally made video footages of the whole October 25 event, from the procession from Phnom Penh to the ceremony itself at the pagoda to a subsequent short walk across surrounding rice fields to a newly delineated “white zone” along the border with Vietnam.
During the Kathen ceremony at the pagoda, several local villagers spontaneously, successively, unexpectedly and vehemently complained to Sam Rainsy and other National Assembly members present on that occasion that “Vietnamese authorities have grabbed their rice fields over the last few months.”
First taken aback by such grievances during a religious ceremony and invited to go to see the problem with his own eyes by the plaintiffs, who were supported by all the villagers present at the pagoda, Sam Rainsy said he would go to try to assess the situation on the spot after the end of the religious ceremony: Buddhist monks were having their mi-day only meal and offerings brought from Phnom Penh were to be ritually made to the pagoda.
After the end of the religious ceremony, several dozens villagers led the National Assembly members to their nearby rice fields and showed them a bunch of six newly planted wooden sticks which, according to what local authorities had recently told the villagers, were part of a “new line” delineating a new “white zone” they were not allowed to do anything on from now on. Villagers told the National Assembly members how furious they were since they had been told such a thing because they had worked and lived on these/their rice fields for decades without any problem. They said this was just land grabbing. Nobody understands the alleged technicalities of, and the rationale behind, the recent planting of those sticks on the Cambodian farmers’ rice fields. Villagers accused those who had planted the sticks of violating their private properties. Some villagers said they had pulled out some of the sticks from their rice fields but had been reprimanded by the local authorities. They emotionally called on the higher-level government and any justice-loving organizations to help them.
Sam Rainsy then told the villagers he now understood their grievances and, as an elected representative of the Cambodian people, would not tolerate such injustice. He said such property-violating sticks arbitrarily planted on the villagers’ rice fields without any serious and convincing explanation, were unacceptable. He added he would like to see those sticks planted before his eyes and under his feet be symbolically removed pending an official investigation he would call for when he returns to Phnom Penh. While he was subsequently giving an interview on the phone to a Phnom Penh-based reporter from Radio Free Asia, who had just interviewed on the same phone some of the villagers present on the spot, the assistance in solidarity with the victims pulled out the six wooden sticks and threw them away on the spot. The video footages clearly show that neither Sam Rainsy nor any other National Assembly member took with them those sticks on their way back to Phnom Penh as claimed by both the Vietnamese and the Cambodian authorities who are accusing Sam Rainsy of “sabotage, destruction and theft of public property.”

Two arrested for allegedly spreading rumours about King's health

Police arrested a former executive and a company staff of Securities firms in separate raids for allegedly spreading rumours about the health of the HM the King that triggered a slide in Thailand's stock market, police said.
Thai stocks .SETI plunged a combined 7.2 percent on Oct. 14-15 as rumours circulated over the health of HM the King.
First arrest was made at Liberty Building on Silom Road where police arrest Katha Pajajirayapong, a staff of KT Seamico Securities.
Police later arrested Theeranun Wipuchanun, a former executive of a Securities company at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Jeeranun just returned from a European trip. She was leaving the departure exit when she was arested.
Both will be charged with violating Article 14 of the 2007 Computer Offence Act covering the posting of false computerised information that causes harm to national security and the general public

All party-task force (parliamentary group) should be set up to investigate and verify any alleged land encroachment on the Eastern front if the Cambodian authorities are adamant that such allegations are unfounded or cynically exploited for political capital making or, to create a second Preah Vihear in the East.
Just because there has been official silence from both sides regarding shifting border posts along the eastern border, this does not follow that there has been no instance of actual territorial offences occurring there. Indeed, if one is true to one's patriotic conscience as some figures within the CPP would proclaim themselves to be, one should be encouraged that some of our compatriots have gone to some length to be eyes and ears for our aggrieved farmers on the spot instead of preparing legal measures with which to silence their voice and ostracise their will.
It would be a great comfort to us all if it were to be the case as some of us secretly hope and as Hanoi and PP rhetoric tirelessly reinforces that the two 'fraternal' countries are bound together by mutual regard; that Cambodia's past territorial losses (constituting virtually half of present-day Vietnam)were mere legacies of past diplomacy; that VN has learned the hard way about what it means to be living under the yoke of Chinese and more recently European/American hegemony and that she has truly established her esteem and stature among civilised nations in the 21st century. Alas, this has not been supported by firm 'historical' evidence. If anything, the nation of Vietnam (which according to some writers literally means South-Bound) has long exhausted its course to the South and has begun, particularly, since the end of the 2nd Indochina War, to cast its voracious glance at its Western neighbours instead.
Some observers have viewed the absence of natural barriers along Cambodia's eastern frontier as rendering her ever more vulnerable to a State attuned in the art of piece-meal absorption of foreign domains and making them irreversibly its own. Thus, unlike mountainous Laos or the Dangrek Range on which sat the
sacred Khmer temple of Preah Vihea in the West, there is hardly a dung hill between Wat Phnom and Ho Chi Minh City.
If Cambodians are united before what really stands before them rather than what misguided minds and treacherous propaganda have allowed them to believe, all present and prospective demarcation lines can be redrawn along their due locations without violating either nation's sovereignty or integrity.
Otherwise, those border stakes may one day find themselves erected outside the Royal Palace itself, by which time no amount of 'theatrical stunt' will be enough to remove them.

Oppostion has right to be oppropriately informed of what sort of agreement reached between RGC and Vietnam. The border committe has to be up for investigation and explanation to members of national assembly for its actions taken.
Mp is supposed to advocate and assist cambodian electorates and protect the country that he/she sworn to do so. Duties fullfiled at the request of cambodians, so Not that I see anything wrong with that.
It is domino affect, the root of the matters is the abuse of human rights that cambodians are entitled to for reasonable and peaceful living.The international communities are focusing on the issues, the UN has had reports from its convoys, US is also involved, NGOs are also vigilent of the so long abuses.

I think this contributor "Neang SA" has good critical thinking skills. I agree that the whole world and especially the Cambodian people need to know the details of "agreements" or deals signed by the Hun Sen's and the Vietnamese governments. The Viets can't claim to be good neighbors while at the same time stealing more Khmer land. That is simply not right.
SR has a good point to help villagers uprooted those illigal border post. Says if those posts were planted there by the border committee- question will need to be asked if the Parliament was ever informed? If not then we can argue that SR acted as MP to help Cambodian. Let all Khmer hear this loud and clear so that the thief won't steal our land easily.

The conflct between Thailand and Cambodia was created by Hanoi in order to reinforce its military troops back into Cambodia. Today many Provinces in Cambodia, Preah Vihear and Koh Kong are Vietnamese troops.
Hanoi uses Preah Vihear as a pretext to bring their military troops back into Cambodia.

Royal government of Cambodia must seek UN intervention regarding illegal border posts moved inside Cambodia by Vietnam. Our Khmer farmers and peasants along border can report to provincial authorities regarding any irregularities. We need modern tech to verify the boundary markers according to existing UN maps.

I don't know man or woman but by looking at the name 24 years old Kong Maya Marie, doctorat of political science, I think the doctorat Kong may be a woman or Khmer.
