Scenes of another police brutality on Soung Sophoan, the head of the Sam Rainsy Party youth. He was seriously injured when he attempted to bring a petition to the UN Secretary-general during his last visit to Cambodia.
Yesterday Sophaon was hit with a massive piece of rock, beaten with electric baton, fell unconscious in a pool of blood. He was attempting to stop police violence against the villagers whose homes were being bulldozed by the company that received a long-term concessions from prime minister Hun Sen for development.
After the beating and the spread of terror on the villagers, the police mob left.
State violence against human rights defenders, members of the opposition, women, landowners is part of the government to bring silence, to spread fear and to preserve power.

This puppet government has been facilitating its master’s plan of colonizing Cambodia by pushing Khmer people to live farther and farther from the city, encountering stiff hardships stemming from the lack of foods, cleaned water, school, etc…Thus shorten their life span. This is another way to kill Khmer people.
Look at the newcomers Yiekcongs who have penetrated freely into Cambodia occupied all the places that possess all natural resource and enjoy easy life while the indigenous Khmers deprive almost everything.
With the extreme discontent among Khmer people, the 2013 election should heavily favor all democratic parties to win this most crucial election.
However, if the puppet government wins the election again that would surely imply that the number of yiekcongs inside Cambodia has surpassed the expert’s estimate.
Then there will be no way that the real Khmer nationalists will win future elections.
That circumstance will leave Khmer people no choice, but to mount a popular uprising against this monster expansionist Yiekcong.
And it come to the conclusion that either we die – through peaceful massive demonstration - after this 2013 election to give Cambodia a chance to live or we cowardly stay still and let these yiekcongs eat our motherland alive. That is the choice that we have to make.
Just remember that this is not the first time that Yiekcongs occupy our country. Some ways and some how, our ancestors were able to get rid of them. We must do the same as our ancestors.

Sad to see the very same people the SRP member try to protect are the ones who stand by to watch him get brutalized. This is what you call,"help me and I won't help you in need." these boueng kak lake people deserve to have their land taken away. Why I would say that? They won't fight back for what's right! They talk loud, even louder than Hun Sen but they can't bite. Afraid of dying? Well, keep walking with your head down. This man took the beating for hundreds of villagers standing idle watching the Police beat him. So sad. I feel sorry for the guy because these people did not try to defend him or their properties at all. All they wanted was for someone to fight the battle for them. Get a free ride you can say.
I may sound insensitive towards the helpless people, but got damn fight for what's right and stop standing there watching the very people who stood by you and defended you get brutalized.

Excellent analysis.
That lack of courage has encouraged the expansionist to keep trying to swallow Khmer's land.
To survive we need to change that one very essential element in our way of thinking. Get rid of irrational fear.

I have nothing else to add to your comment. It is certainly a very good observation on your part and you are right without any doubt!
I have lived and seen 3 regimes in Cambodia come and go. What you describe is a typical Cambodian character described very clearly in a book by Mr. Bun Chanmol with the title of "Charet Khmer".
Soung Sophoan was there to defend their houses and when he was being beaten ruthlessly by the cops, they just stood there and watch. They should have come in to help him and should not be afraid, but they were and that is why you need to be very careful when you want to help any group of people in Cambodia because time again and again the people you are helping usually run away when you are in trouble with the ruthless cop alone.
Cambodians seem to have no common sense and courage to do what is right and that is why Cambodia is in its current state and every dictactor in Cambodia can only be removed by foreign intervention!
Hun Sen is smart enough to yield to Vietnam and concerned enough to reach out to Thailand so that they won't help support any groups in Cambodia who wants to challenge his power so he will be in power for a long time to come.
With forest, land and soon-to-get gas in the gulf of Thailand by sharing it with Thailand, he will remain in power for a long time to come.
China, Russia, America and the rest of world are there to enjoy whatever they can take and make money out of so there will not be any real outcry from these countries against Hun Sen at all.
Business takes precedence over human right.
With China behind him, Vietnam being his boss and Thailand being his friend, Hun Sen will rule Cambodia certainly for a long time.
