Beggars' lifestyle: Queen versus Commoner

Today I don't feel like doing anything
I just wanna lay in my bed
Don't feel like picking up my phone, so leave a message at the tone
'Cause today I swear I'm not doing anything

Today I beg as usual
With my age, you think I can just lay peacefully in my bed?
Don't have a phone to answer, so don't leave any message
If you insist on leaving a message, call the rich one above!

Everybody's defending their turfs: Senators nominated by Sihamoni are related to his mother

KI-Media

Radio France Internationale (RFI) reported on 11 March 2012 that 2 senate positions were filled by king Sihamoni. The two octogenarian men selected by the king are: (1) Oum Mannorine and (2) Ieu Pannakar. In addition to being cronies of his father, ex-king Sihanouk, the two men are also related to the king's mother, Queen Monineath Sihanouk (née Monique Izzi). Oum Mannorine is the queen's half brother, and Ieu Pannakar married Oum Sophanith, the queen's half sister and the sister of Oum Mannorine.

The selection of the two octogenarian men by the king clearly means that the Cambodian Senate is nothing more than a rubber institution that does not fulfill any significant role in Cambodia. Furthermore, it also shows that the king has no trust in anyone except people in his family circle.

All well's is NOT TOO well in the kingdom plagued with CRONYISM and FAMILY FAVORITISM. Cronyism is practiced by the CPP leaders and gladly copied (or is it vice-versa?) by the king and his entourage.

BRAVO?!?!

Sralanh Khmer Newspaper is pounded by the entire clan

Translated from Khmer by Socheata

Disclaimer

After reading the article published by the “Sralanh Khmer” newspaper dated 15 and 16 March 2007, we, Oum Manorin and Oum Sophanit, who are the older brother and the older sister of Queen-Mother Monineath Sihanouk are extremely hurt and have enormous anger on the furious slanders and the lack of professional integrity expressed towards the royal name and the royal honor of Queen-Mother.

For this lack of integrity, and serious lack of thoughtfulness, both of us, we cannot accept it at all, and we are declaring that we are both the witnesses and we have all the evidence to show to the national and international public that “Queen-Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk” was born from the womb of “Chao Khun Pomme Peang,” our mother who is a real Khmer woman with Mr. “Jean François IZZI” who is a French citizen.

Based on the above, both of us are disclaiming on the slander made against “Queen-Mother Monineath Sihanouk” and the accusation made that she is of Vietnamese origin, and we are condemning anyone who has the dirty black thought, filled with disdainful poison, in trying to obtain for their personal advantage with no means other than writing and distributing false information, slanders, and persecuting others.

In conclusion, we are calling on the Ministry of Information of the Government of Cambodia to take very good care of this issue according to the law of the Kingdom of Cambodia, on any parties involved in the publication of information cited above, based on the serious faults they have committed in the past.

Done in Phnom Penh, 19 March 2007

Signed

Oum Manorin, Senator

Oum Sophanit, Wife of H.E. Senator Iev Pannakar

----
Translator's note: The older brother and sister of Queen-Mother may need to issue another disclaimer for slandering Mr. Jean François Izzi and labeling him of being only "French." According to King-Father, Mr. Izzi was in fact French citizen of Italian origin.

Too bad she's Vietnamese!

Translated from French by Luc Sâr
“Too bad she’s Vietnamese!”
By N. Sihanouk

Beijing, February 16, 2007

A charming French Lady who was a childhood friend of my wife (they studied together at Lycée Descartes, in Phnom Penh, under the French Protectorate), had the nostalgia of Cambodia, (Mrs …) came to the Khmer country.

Recently, she visited Siemreap-Angkor. At the Siemreap city market, she had cordial conversations with Khmer women of the Small People (Ordinary citizens) who has the reputation of loving a lot “their” Samdech Euv and “their” Samdech Mè.

Oh surprise! Regarding Samdech Mè, some of these Khmer women, while answering to a question from the charming French Lady, told her: “Samdech Mè (Monineath Sihanouk)? We adore her! But it’s too bad that she is a Vietnamese woman!” –sic!–

Oh Lonnolian and SirikMatakian Lords! You are really immortal and invincible! Your slanders remain very alive and “incrusted” in the heart and soul of Khmer People who, even in 2007, consider Your anti-Sihanouk, anti-Monique Izzi Sihanouk Propaganda to be the “Holy Truth” itself!

You “affirmed” in this 1970-1975 Propaganda that the Maman of my wife, Mrs Pomme Peang, did not give birth to Monique. The latter was only a Vietnamese [girl] adopted by Mrs. Pomme Peang, the wife of the Frenchman (Mr.) Izzi.

Thus, I have for wife a Vietnamese woman, and myself, according to some Thai newspapers in 1962-1963, following the lawsuit on “Preah Vihear” at the International Court of Justice at The Hague, I would have a lot of Siamese blood in my veins. Therefore, our Kampuchea has for leaders a Siamese-Viet couple!

What more to say?

(Signed) Norodom Sihanouk
